Through our AeroSTEAM workshops, the Urban Aviators Society has inspired more than 200 youth to see science and flight in a whole new way. By blending hands-on aviation projects with STEAM learning, students build hydraulic lifts, race cars, and paper airplanes, all while discovering the power of creativity and teamwork.

Scholarships Awarded

Through continued mentorship, three students have earned more than $20,000 in additional scholarships, turning guidance into lasting opportunity.

The Need We Are Addressing
The aviation and drone industries face a significant shortage of talent and an even larger equity gap.

6.1% of pilots belong to a minority group: 3.9% are Black, 2.2% are Asian, and 0.5% are Hispanic or Latino. Women constitute 4.6% of pilots, with minority women making up 1% of that total.

STEAM careers remain inaccessible primarily to underserved communities.

The costs of beginning flight training can exceed $15,000, creating significant barriers.

Many youth never receive early exposure to aviation or STEAM experiences.
